About
As a UX design generalist based in New York City, I have experience working with both B2C and B2B clients at Avanade, a joint venture between Microsoft and Accenture. Over the past four years at Avanade, I’ve been part of teams that have consulted for some of the largest companies in the world across different industries. In particular, I have experience working with clients in healthcare, financial services, insurance, and manufacturing.
Each project varies in length — from six weeks to two years. No matter the client, from the research phase through to wireframing, I try to find solutions that are technically feasible and meet the unique needs of diverse stakeholders. I take a proactive approach to collaboration and a holistic understanding of the human-centered design process.
Prior to joining Avanade, I worked at a corporate communications agency that specializes in issues management for more than six years. This period offered me the chance to work for stints in London and Tokyo, and exposure to these different cultures broadened my perspective. Working on these high-stakes assignments also instilled in me the importance of a proactive approach and attention to detail.
While transitioning from working in communications to UX required learning new skills, I believe there is a shared underlying principle: conveying information in the clearest way possible, while keeping in mind the unique needs of the audience you’re trying to reach.
UX Perspective
Design thinking is a frequently used research and organizational method in my client projects. I am a LUMA Institute-certified design thinking practitioner and am comfortable leading both virtual and in-person workshops.
Environmental sustainability is a core value in my life and I have gone beyond what’s required on client projects to learn about how to design for energy and resource efficiency. At Avanade, I co-founded the North America Sustainability Interest Group, which shares resources and fosters community around taking positive climate action. I have also presented about best practices for sustainable UX design for two UX Design cohorts at General Assembly.
Inclusive design is essential to good design. I am preparing to take the exam to receive a “Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies” designation from the International Association of Accessibility Professionals in 2025.
